As Previously Noted

As previously noted by your friendly neighborhood Freak, Hill & Howard are using the same script.

And, no less than the New York Daily News has now publicly linked the two and their outrageous claims and accusations against the President, Republicans, christians and conservatives in general.

Condi in charge

Not qualified, to close to the President, they even suggested that she should resign from her position as National Security Advisor.

Well, 3+ months after she became Sec. of State how is she doing? Well, quite well by many accounts. Her relationship with the President is considered as asset and she has increased her stature "well beyond that of Sec. Powell".

Reichert Rolling

VP Dick Cheney was in town Monday to assist Rep. Dave Reichert - 8th Dist. in his fund raising efforts for re-election. And a successful visit is was. The Seattle Times reports that Rep. Reichert has over $376,000 in his coffers prior to the event.

That, along with the funds raised Monday put his at nearly 1/3 of the total amount raised for his victory last year over Dave Ross ($1.5 million), and he still has about 16 months before the election.

Rep. Reichert is not exactly my perfect legislator. I have not agreed with all of his votes (oil drilling in ANWAR), but one can not expect perfection in a politician.

The main thing for Rep. Reichert is that he tries to stay connected with his constituents. He is regularly on the radio talk shows, even calling in, unsolicited, on at least one occasion. The biggest thing is that he actually took calls from listeners.

Staying in touch with your constituency and fairly representing the views of your electorate are the important traits in a politician and unfortunately all to rare.

Citizen Rebuke

Now is the time, time is short, no time like the present, delay no longer, the cliche's are endless, but time to get the gas tax reversed is now.

At the same time that Judge Bridges was revealing his decision on the election contest, a Thurston County judge approved the proposed ballot title changes requested by the NoNewGasTax.com people. Immediately, the petitions began printing, and were mailed Monday to over 11,000 volunteers and soon thereafter, were available at FedEx/Kinko stores across the state.

That was the good news, the bad news was that the firm that stands to make millions from the issuing of the bonds to fund the projects had successfully delayed the process for a week. While that may not seem like much, that delay left about 30 days to acquire over 280,000 signatures in order to get the Initiative on the November ballot. A difficult task, no doubt, but not impossible.

Please visit the site, get a petition and get signatures, or at least just sign a petition, your help is needed to veto this slap in the face of the people of the State of Washington.

Thank God for Vermont!

OK, we lost the election challenge for Governor of the State of Washington, take you licks and get ready to come back another day (or go to nonewgastax.com and wait no longer.)

Get your chin off of your chest and smile, and I mean BIG!

What other reaction can you have? Every day we get another treat, from the gift that is proving to keep on giving........HOWARD DEAN

I love it. Every morning I get up, watch Fox & Friends and almost without fail, Dr. Dean has gotten diarrhea of the mouth again and has provided the Republicans with another gift.

A few years ago, I though Tom Daschle was a Republicans best friend. Every time he would speak out against the President or his policies (ie. Operation Iraqi Freedom), within a day or two, any predictions he made would be proven wrong. It was priceless.

Just when I thought we would never have anyone that "fun" again, along comes Dr. Howard Dean. I knew when he was selected as DNC chair, it would be interesting, but who knew?

One would imagine that he would tone it down and speak more moderately, considering his job now is mainly to raise money, which is going horribly by the way. Well, there are times when I am more than happy to be proven wrong.

It has gotten so bad, two potential Democrat Presidential candidates are already running from him faster than Jesse Owens.

It also seems that after Sen. Rodham-Clinton's little excursion to the right, she is following Dr. Dean's lead. We'll see where this goes.

I have big hopes for the next 3 1/2 years politically, Gregoire, Dean & Clinton.

There is a God!

9/11 Atrocity after the fact - Part II

Use appropriations as directed or return the funds! That is the word from the Feds reagarding about $44 mil of Federal Aid for 9/11 victims. New York failed to use the funds according to the agreement with the Federal government and dispersed it to agencies not authorized to receive the funds. If, as New York asserts, the funds still went to the victims, I don't have a huge problem with it, congress will still need to approval the method of dispersal...I guess we'll see.

Another, larger problem for the State is that they have yet to spend approximately $125 million of Federal monies and are considering taking the money back from the State. This money was for Worker's Compensation claims. The State says they are waiting for "additional claims" to come in. Hmmm. I can see a few claims coming in later from fireman/polics/emergency workers who can in direct contact with the site and having to breath in the polluted air, but I am not to sure about $125 million worth.

One question here as well: What happens with the interest on these funds? State General Fund? Just a thought.

9/11 - Atrocity after the fact - Part I

This was a point of conversation on various shows yesterday. I'll leave it to Michelle Malkin to say it best (as she usually does).

In brief, the plan is to essentialy make the memorial mainly a display of man's inhumanity to man, or as the lefties like to consider it, the wrongs America have done to the world. Oh, sure, they will be mentioning Hitler etc., but there will be sections on the plight of the Native Americans, black slaves in America (I will assume there will be nothing about the current slavery issues in Africa and the Middle East), and other misc. atrocities committed by the United States.

Leave it to these people to turn an American Tradgedy and turn the focus back against America.

One question: Weren't we the ones attacked September 11, 2001? I know I will never forget.
