The Children Are Our Future - Big Deal

First the House, then the Senate, the White House, (then the Senate again - thank you Jim Jeffords. The libs have lost and will continue to if they keep going the way they are, but after decades of domination of the legislature, and periodic control of the White House, they have entrenched themselves in many facets of our society, the most topical lately is the judiciary, the Shiavo case, and inumerable case of judicial legislation, but that is for another day.

The education system is another system infiltrated and control by the left is education. Well known and documented, but it just keeps getting wierder.

Two stories recently caught my attention, first, some schools in Florida have changed from letter grades to number grades. The excuse given is to better track at what level the student is performing at, ridiculous! Isn't it just logical that by reducing the rating levels from 5 (A, B, C, D & F) to 3 (1, 2 & 3) you would reduce the ability to accurately asess the level at shich a student is achieving? All that is accomplished with this is to allow the system to further blur the line between success and failure and the ability of the education system and parents to focus the attention for those students not performing at the desired level, and hopefully assist the student in those areas in which they are lacking.

Second, Al Roker a great scientist? Native American lore explaning the change of seasons? What have we come to? We have reduced our classrooms to little liberal petrie dishes to test out leftist theories. The problem with that is that since the results don't reflect favorably on the system, we change the grading system in order to make it virtually impossible to accurately rate the students and the success of these programs (see above).

More fuel efficient cars, alternative fuels, etc. By taking the science out of science class, doesn't that make the likelihood of future discoveries and advances to make our lives better and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels (as an example) reduce the qualified pool of scientists to make those discoveries? Why cut off our noses despite our face?

Just a thought.

I Found Her A Job! ...Oops, she may not be qualified

Considering that in November we will be re-electing Dino Rossi as Governor of the State of Washington and that Former Attorney General Gregoire (a nod to Stephan Sharkansky of Sound Politics) will need to find a new job, I undertook the task of finding her a new job, since as "compassionate conservative" I would not want her to be unemployed and be drain on the system.

Well, I have had success. The job is as a cook, ok, maybe she doesn't have the qualifications, but there are some fittingcoicidences and just as an added bonus, she moves out of state.

1) Location - Berkeley, CA - Need I say more?
2) Restaurant name - Gregoire Restaurant- What a fit? She could stay employed and still stroke her own ego by telling everyone she owns the place.

Well, I will forward this to her, I just hope they don't fill the position by November.

Desperate Democrats Jilt the Judiciary

This is delicious. Senate minority leader Sen. Harry Reid feels the walls coming in. Now, out of the goodness of his heart said "Let's try cooperation, rather than confrontation, which seems to be the hallmark of what we've been doing here lately." The confrontation has been solely on the part of the dems against the Presidents judicial nominations.

Sen. Reid wants to "step away from the precipice". Admit it Senator, they are calling your bluff and you just don't have a winning hand.

Majority leader, Sen. Bill Frist, M.D., is finally holding the line and will implement the "constitutional option" and force an up or down vote for these exceptionally qualified nominees, many of whom are minorities.

Article II, Sec. 2 of the Constitution (not the living, breathing on Gore likes to imagine) provides the President the Power to nominate members of the judiciary with the advice and consent of the Senate.

All that has been repeated innumerable times in the MSM. The thing that is not mentioned is that when describing the powers of the Executive is that while the Constitution does require a 2/3 vote for Treaties, all nominees are mentioned separately and require only the Advice & Consent of the Senate.

So, lets not hear anymore about the "Nuclear Option", it is and should be referred to as the "Constitutional Option".

The Real Weapon of Mass Destruction

***WARNING - LINK CONTAINS GRAPHIC MATERIAL***

Now comes word of another discovery of another mass grave in Iraq. But we still hear the mantra from the left that we went to war for oil, we are killing innocent civilians etc. According to the USAID report of January 2004 (nearly a year-and-a-half ago) more than 270 mass grave sites had been located and over 400,000 victims had been discovered.

I won't comment any further, I believe this website and the USAID report say it all.

God bless the USA and the new Iraq.

First Step Taken!

Well, well, well, the first step has been taken to repeal the 9 cent gas tax! YEAH!! Kirby Wilbur & John Carlson just announced at the top of the 8:00am hour on 570 KVI in Seattle that the goals had been reached to justify moving on with the repeal of the gas tax!

Goal - $25,000
In Hand - Over $80,000

Goal - 2,500 volunteers
Actual - Over 6,000

But now, the tough part. Writing, submitting the initiative and then acquiring the signatures - over 250,000 of them. And to make things even tougher, due to the red tape involved in getting an initiative on the ballot, petitions will not be available until the end of May, which leaves only about 5 weeks to collect the necessary signatures.

We need to keep the heat on, and keep up the enthusiasm up until we can actually get the petitions in hand.

Stay tuned, this may be one for the record books.

Al Libbi Capture - How big is it?

OK, the Pakistani's capture the #3 guy in alQaeda, Al Libbi. This is huge people! This would be like capturing Heinrich Himmler during WWII.

Many are already attempting to downplay the significance of this get. One story even states that al Qaeda has ceased using technology to communicate some time ago and are using runners exclusively, however, according to reports US agents intercepted a cell phone call and tipped off the Pakistani's as to his location.

As proof of the significance of this get is the subsequent arrests of al Qaeda operatives. Reports also state that they are not done yet.

Success after success and STILL many refuse to acknowledge the accomplishments of the combined efforts of the US and our many allies. We are fighting the good fight and will prevail.

History will recognize the dedication of the American people led by Pres. Bush in our efforts to make the world a more safe place.

Question:
On KVI, John & Kirby are really pushing this. I am curious exactly what there involvement in this endeavor is. Yesterday, John was making a definite point of saying that he was in no way affiliated with, but did support, the drive. Today, he stated that he & Kirby wanted to make sure that there was sufficient interest in the mission prior to moving forward. Just curious, what is the secret?
